'Failed To Imagine': Israeli Army Probe On October 7 Attack By Hamas Terrorists

An Israeli Army spokesperson said that they did not even imagine the Palestinian terrorists backed by Hamas could ever launch an attack of such a scale.

Tel Aviv: The Israeli Army has said that they ‘failed to imagine’ a scenario like October 7 when Hamas launched an unprovocative and unprecedented attack on Israel on October 7, 2023, that further escalated into a major war.

Speaking to media about the findings of the probe into the October 7 attacks, an Israeli Army spokesperson said that they did not even imagine such a scenario.

The Israeli army said that Palestinian terrorists from Gaza backed by Hamas surprised them not just in term of numbers but also the scale of attack.

As Israelis have accepted that it was their intelligence failure to pre-empt the Hamas attack, the findings may now build pressure on Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to order a border inquiry on what went into political decision making the preceded the attack.

Many Israelis believe that it was not just a military failure and raised questioned Netanyahu’s failed strategy of deterrence and containment in the years leading up to the attack. They blamed him for allowing Qatar to send loads of cash to Gaza.

Netanyahu has not taken responsibility yet 

Israelis are also of the view that Prime Minister Netanyahu has not taken responsibility for his government’s failure to prevent the October 7 attack and expect that he would answer all the tough questions once the war is over.

October 7 was deadliest attack on Israel by Hamas  

The October 7 was the deadliest attack ever by Hamas on Israel when Palestinian terrorists killed over 1,200 people and took 251 people as hostage.

After Trump's return to the White House, Israel and Hamas agreed on a hostage swap deal. The first phase of hostage release from Hamas side has concluded recently.
