37 Dead In Lebanon's Pager, Walkie-Talkie Attacks, Hezbollah Promises 'Special Punishment'
The head of Hezbollah's Executive Council promised the group would respond to pager explosion attack with “special punishment".
Lebanon: At least 37 people have been killed so far in back-to-back pager and walkie-talkie bomb attacks targeting Hezbollah leaders in Lebanon, which took place on Tuesday and Wednesday. The death toll from Wednesday's wireless communication device – walkie-talkies – resulted in 25 live, Lebanon's health ministry informed on Thursday.
Hezbollah has accused Israel's hand behind the first of its kind attacks, targeting its leaders. Meanwhile, Israel which has not taken responsibility for these attack is shifting security focus towards north, expecting a response from Lebanon.
On Tuesday evening, Lebanon was rocked by surprise and deadly attacks when several pagers – old generation communication device – began exploding, mostly used by Hezbollah leaders. Even when the country was mourning the Tuesday attack, a similar attack ran security agencies into panic when walkie-talkies – another old generation communication device – began exploding on Wednesday evening, resulting in several casualties.
