German airline Lufthansa allegedly left a flyer’s bag on the tarmac in Munich even after the negligence was pointed to them by its owner. Karn Rateria, a Mumbai resident, took to Twitter to speak about the incident. Rateria tweeted an image of his luggage, lying on the tarmac of Munich airport, and told Lufthansa that the luggage was in his sight while the crew said that the loading was complete.

Mistake followed by another mistake

Lufthansa replied to Rateria’s tweet which was apparently not related to the incident at all. “Very sorry for that. There was an outage of the baggage system at the airport in Frankfurt. My colleagues are doing their best to locate the bags and send them as quick as possible. /Sam,” tweeted Lufthansa. Since the bag was left at Munich airport and Rateria was flying to Manchester, the outage of the baggage system at the Frankfurt airport had nothing to do with it. Rateria replied the same on Lufthansa’s clarification. “This was at Munich airport though. LH2500,” he wrote.

Users not impressed with Lufthansa’s justification

Rateria also said that he was one of the first 15 people to board the flight and was past security 2 hours before the flight. Lufthansa’s mistake didn't go unpunished by netizens. "Lufthansa tweets about baggage outage in Frankfurt but you were flying Munich to Manchester....strange justification," tweeted a user. Rateria replied saying, "Yep! Random reply without even looking at the problem."

Netizens find the incident hilarious

Rateria said that the incident was infuriating though he can find the lighter side of it once he gets his bag back. A lot of users shared their experiences with Lufthansa where they had goofed up. “Just today my neighbour came from Berlin and she lost her baggage to on way to Berlin plus flight was cancelled,” a user wrote. “She said Lufthansa has become horrible off late... I only flew once from NY but had a rather forgettable experience as AC was not working...” he added.
