Croatia man reconstructs plane as tourist attraction in his garden

A Croatian man, who is a Plane enthusiast decided to turn his Fokker-100 plane into a tourist attraction, where the plane can be rented for events and parties

A Croatian man, who happens to be a plane enthusiast decided to turn his Fokker-100 plane into a tourist attraction, where the plane can be rented for various events and parties. The unusual sight of Fokker-100 parked amid a huge garden in a small village of northwestern Croatia has become the new local attraction for tourists. 

Aircraft transformed for tourist attraction

Robert Sedler was a plane enthusiast who travelled around the world for 23 years of his life. Now, he and his friends have together deciphered new ideas to transform his aircraft into a tourist attraction which they will rent out for several parties and events. Many local people stop by to gaze at the mesmerizing sight of an aircraft parked in a garden. The location, however, resembles more to an accident site with a beautiful background of the hilly village of Strmec Stubicki.

Childhood dreams come to reality

The aircraft was designed to accommodate approximately 100 passengers, now the team has removed all the seats and equipment of the aircraft, including the engines and the cockpit. The Fokker-100 was initially constructed back in 1991 and was used by the companies of Mexico, Brazil, Indonesia and Croatia. The owner of the plane also told international media that the plane was brought to his village from Osijek airport, which is located 340 kilometres away from his village. He further said that it was his childhood dream to park an aeroplane outside his home as he was always fascinated by planes.

Re-marking to the aircraft

The Dutch aircraft is very spacious with a span of 28 metres and a length of 34.5 metres. The team took the entire six weekends to break down the plane into several parts so that it can be easily transported. It took them five days to transport all the parts on the required location. Later, they reconstructed the aircraft and the repair work is still going on, followed by painting the aircraft in vibrant colours. The plane will be open for tourists from March 8, on the occasion of international women’s day and 51st birth anniversary of Sedler.
