Israel thanks India for backing its rejection of terrorist organization - Shahed's request to obtain observer status in UN

In a major push towards anti-terrorism, India stood with Israel on Monday, rejecting the request of the terrorist organization “Shahed” to obtain the status of an observer in the United Nations (UN). Thanking India for standing by Israel, Maya Kadosh, Israel's Deputy Chief Of Mission to India, has tweeted a message of support writing that 'together both nations will continue to act against terrorist organizations that intend to harm.'

Thanking India for standing by Israel, Maya Kadosh, Israel's Deputy Chief Of Mission to India, has tweeted a message of support writing that 'together both nations will continue to act against terrorist organizations that intend to harm.'

The photo shared by the diplomat shows that the vote for rejecting the terror outfit's request was won by those in favour by 28:14.

The Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has made anti-terrorism as his major agenda in the second term. In his maiden visit as PM to the Maldives, he addressed the Maldivian Parliament and delivered a strong message against terrorism.

Terming it one of the important challenges facing India and Maldives, PM Modi called terrorism a threat to the human race, while pointing out how it continues to grow with state-support in many cases. The Prime Minister also appealed for a global conference over the issue so that loopholes used by the terrorists can be blocked. 

"Terrorists neither have their own banks, nor the factory for weapons, still there is never any shortage of funds or weapons for them. How do they receive all this? Who gives them all these facilities? The state sponsorship to terrorism has turned out to be the biggest threat, he said.

France Welcomes PM Modi's Call For Global Conference On Terrorism

Earlier on Monday, France welcomed Prime Minister Narendra Modi's proposal for a global conference to tackle the threat of terrorism, saying the fight against terror is at the heart of its priorities.

Minister of State for Europe and Foreign Affairs of France Jean Baptiste Lemoyne said: "Fight against terrorism is at the heart of our priorities... France stands alongside India on this... and I can say that we have strong relations on this front," he added.
