Kazakhstan women awarded gold medals for delivering more than 7 babies

According to Kazakhstan law the mother who gives birth to more than seven children, they are awarded a gold medal and honoured with the title of 'Hero Mothers'

Kazakhstan is one of the many countries that encourages its residents to have large families and according to the law the mother who gives birth to more than seven children are awarded a gold medal and honours them with the title of 'Hero Mothers'. These mothers are further also eligible to get a month's complete expenditure from the government. The gold medal also know as 'Altyn Alka' pendant or Golden Pendant according to the changes in Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan back in 1995, is awarded to mothers that give birth and has raised seven or more children.

The Government of Kazakhstan also awards silver medal also known as 'Kumis Alka' to mothers that have given birth and raised six children. There are in total 121 pendants out of which 53 are 'Altyn Alka' and 68 are 'Kumis Alka'. These mothers are also known as 'Heroine Mothers' or 'Hero Mothers'. The Golden and Silver pendants have the status of the “Orders of the Republic of Kazakhstan”. Aksana Elusezova from the Department of Labour and Social Programs of Kazakhstan reportedly says that Kazakhstan Government Policy promotes childbirth in the country and encourages every mother to have more children.

'Hero Mother'

A 'Hero Mother' Roshan Kozomkulova, who lives in Kazakhstan is a mother to eight girls and two boys. She was awarded both a Silver Pendant and the Golden Pendant. After receiving the 'Atlyn Alka' she became entitled to government allowances throughout her life. Another mother Baktigul Halikbeva has six children and is bestowed with a silver medal. She is reportedly paid by the government every month. The Kazakhstan Government also gives financial support to those mothers who are unable to win the medals. According to international reports, every family with four children is paid allowances by the government until the child becomes 21 years old.
