A 7-year-old rebellious cat Quilty has left the animal shelter shocked and annoyed over his constant attempts to get out. Quilty became an internet sensation after a video of him letting other cats out of their room into the shelter lobby went viral. The shelter has described the cat as “shy” but because of his mischievous behaviour, the Friends for Life Animal Rescue Organisation has decided to lock Quilty inside solitary confinement until he learns some manners.

In a recent update, the shelter posted, “Quilty's review with the parole board was denied, so he released himself of his own recognizance today. He felt that confinement had nothing more to offer him. He has been returned to solitary. The review board will take up his case again tomorrow. (Y'all. This cat released himself FROM THE INTEGRATION KENNEL IN THE ROOM...)”

The shelter home also updated Quilty's profile on their website. “What is the coolest cat name you’ve ever heard? I think my name, Quilty is the winner! I love my name almost as much as I love a CLEAN litter box and sunning on the balcony. As much as I like getting pets, I really don’t like to get belly rubs. I do know that I like to open closed doors. When I see one it challenges me, and I work hard to get it open and I’m usually successful. I’m ready to go to your house for a sleepover and I’m ready to stay forever.”

The rescue and adoption organization said, “If someone out there is looking for a clever cat that gets along with dogs but does not get along with closed doors, we have someone they really need to come and meet”. The organization in an interview with an international media outlet said that they were pretty surprised and excited to see the response from the netizens. They further said Quilty is an awesome cat and people are welcome to visit the cats whenever they want.
