Julia Kumpulainen from Kotka, Finland, got a set of 'vampire fangs' after spending a year reading bout the fabled creatures. Julia said that she could smell blood from quite a distance and enjoyed the taste of it. Kumpulainen further added that she always had an inkling that she shared a few characteristics with the vampires she saw in the movies and that led her to get a temporary set of vampire's teeth.

The 'Human Vampire'

The 24-year-old wore the temporary 'vampire' fangs for a period of 5 years despite the fact that the fangs caused her jaw pain and made it difficult for her to eat. Although, in the month of January 2019, she found a doctor who helped her and made a set of customized fangs for her teeth and that could be fitted permanently. The 'fangs' cost her a total of £430.

Julia said that she was receiving comments from people who she did not know. She said that she had a  4-year-old daughter who loved her fangs but there were a few people who had run away from her in fear. Kumpulainen further added that she hoped to change the way people thought about vampires. The 'Vampire' also said that even though she likes the taste of blood, she would never bite anyone.

Fascinated about vampires since a young age

Julia talked about how she was fascinated by vampires even when she was a kid and started to develop 'vampire' habits as a teenager. She then heard about the Scarecrow vampire fangs that could be moulded in order to be stuck to be someone's teeth and be taken off at any given point of time but could not be worn while eating food.

The Finnish 'Vampire' said that she really started to like her Halloween "fake" fangs even though they caused pain in her jaws after she wore them daily for quite some time. People started to ask her to bite them and if she was at a bar, people would come up to her and ask if they could take a picture or if she would bite them.

Julia said that just like a vampire, she did not like the sun as she got burnt easily and compared herself to a twilight vampire as she considered her so pale that she could sparkle. She also said that she was clueless about how she could smell blood at a distance. She said that she mostly smelled blood in an area where a fight had taken place.

Just be yourself

She said that in fantasy land, a vampire is someone who comes out at night, hates the sun and is immortal but today's world functions according to the way humans beings want it to function. Julia said that the message she wanted to spread was to inspire other people and wanted to encourage people to just be themselves irrespective of what other people thought about them.
