The love from animals is often termed as pure and unadulterated, and that’s what an adorable encounter between a grey seal and a deep-sea diver displayed. A video of the bonding where the seal is seen shaking hands with the diver and reacting cutely to his gestures has left netizens overwhelmed.
A UK-based deep-sea diver named Ben Burville, a doctor by profession, shot the video off Northumberland coast, in the UK. In the video, the seal is seen shaking hands with Burville, trying to intimately bite his hand and absolutely loving it when he pets the seal’s head and below the chin.
Sharing videos on Twitter, Burville wrote, “I'd never met this seal before This is not a pet or tame This is a wild, young, male grey seal possibly 3-4 years old I didn't find him, he found me & initiated the interaction...”
Giving out the statistics with grey seals, he added, “Rare seals - 38% of the world population of grey seals can be found around the UK coast -latest estimate of 150,000 grey seals breed around UK. Less grey seals in world than African elephants! (c. 395K vs 415K).”
Burville highlighted the term ‘Mutual Trust’, even using it as hashtag and added, “This wild grey seal lives in the #NorthSea He feeds himself He finds his own place to sleep, rest, playHe is not a pet or tame Yet despite this he chooses to #trust He chooses to initiate interaction with a human How little we really understand about #nature.”
Netizens were in love with the interaction and termed it as ‘too gorgeous’, ‘Soul lifting’ ‘Unbelievable’ and ‘beyond amazing’.
In one of his earlier videos, shot in June, a seal was seen playing around with the diver’s helmet, but doesn’t succeed.
