A UK woman stabbed her boyfriend in a fit of rage after he tried stopping her from packing too many clothes for a holiday.

The accused, Lesley Bradbury, stabbed Gary Moore after she found out that he unloaded several of her items from their car, Manchester’s Minshull Street Crown Court was informed.

When contacted, police found Mr Moore bleeding from his left arm. Meanwhile, Bradbury a 50-year-old former invoice clerk, told officers:

"He deserved it.".

Moore, a driving instructor, was rushed to the hospital for treatment and has since recovered. The court was also informed that Bradbury suffered from a condition which caused her to hoard possessions and protect them in a "pathological way". Initially, she was charged with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm but her guilty plea later resulted in a reduced charge of unlawful wounding.

Bradbury, a resident of Stoke-on-Trent, was given 12-month prison sentence and suspended from her job for 18 months. She was also ordered to undergo rehabilitation for 30 days.

Moore refused to comment and the couple are likely still together. No additional details of his treatment were given except minor details about the stabbing.

The incident happened on 29 December as the couple packed for a holiday to welcome the New Year.

Explaining the circumstances of the incident to the court, the prosecutor said that Moore had a two-inch wound on his bicep and was waiting outside his and Bradbury's home when the Police arrived. Bradbury allegedly told the Police that she wanted to kill herself. The prosecutor added that Moore was hopeful of a renewal of their relationship.

The defence lawyer said that mental health issues worked in favour of the accused. The judge, however, in a stern message told Bradbury that her condition didn't reduce her culpability as things could easily have been very different, before awarding a non-immediate custodial sentence.
