Diana Ross has been confirmed to perform in the legend slot for the 2020 Glastonbury Festival. The Soul icon is the first artist to receive the confirmation. The fans will witness the spectacle performance of the Motown star on Sunday, June 28 next year. The ‘legend slot’ is considered the much-awaited moment of the Glastonbury Festival. Earlier Dolly Parton, Lionel Richie, and Kylie Minogue played at the slot making it the most viewed Glastonbury moment of all time. The fans expect similar exhibit from Diana Ross

Diana Ross to play at 'legend slot'

Diana Ross will be celebrating her 75th birthday while on the US tour, she expressed that to play at the legend slot is like a dream come true. The singer will perform for the first time in the United Kingdom since 2008. As per reports the stage being laid for the performance of Ross will be the key attraction for the crowd. Previously, at her gig in the Petworth Park, Sussex the concert was concluded after 50 minutes as the singer took an offence to the fans capturing the show with their phones. In order to avoid such a repeat incident, the set is being carefully crafted.

Diana Ross has a number of hits right from the 1960s Supremes classics like Stop! In The Name Of Love and Baby Love to her 1980s hits like the Upside Down and I'm Coming Out, which gave a new perspective to the music industry and reinvented the disco music. The humbled star said, "To all my fans across the world, this is my tribute to you, every concert feels like a private party. I can see your eyes and feel your hearts. I'm coming to Glastonbury, with love." The announcement made her fans happy and excited.

The 2020 Glastonbury

The 2020 Glastonbury is scheduled from June 24 to 28. After the opening for the tickets, last week, the event was sold out in just 34 minutes. Not to disappoint the fans, there will be scope to purchase returned tickets in the month of April next year. The year 2020 will also mark the golden anniversary of the festival, completing its 50 years its initiation by Michael Eavis who first invited 1,500 bohemians to his farm Pilton, Somerset. The hippies enjoyed the acts of  Al Green, Wayne Fontana, and T-Rex.
