Transpiring as an eminent face of socialism, the millennial activist, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC) carved her way up into the contemporary American politics by challenging the current system.
Who knew, the leftist Democrat leader from New York who is slowly garnering global popularity has an inclination towards languages?
Considering the multi-lingual place that New York is, AOC announced that her next goal is to learn a language that is widely spoken in India- Bengali, of which she can speak only '10 words'
Featured in a political documentary on Netflix, Knock Down The House, wherein AOC could be seen speaking a little Bengali. Afterwhich the American Congress member shared that of the 200 languages that are spoken in her district, she can only speak 4. Moreover, sharing that, to learn the language Bengali is her next goal as they have an "awesome community" in her constituency, the New York's 14th Congressional district.
Responding to a fangirl's tweet on the politician speaking the language, AOC said, "Just a bit! I made a campaign video in Bengali and it was really fun. Over 200 languages are spoken in my district of NY-14. I can speak 4 (2 are rusty, but it’s like a bike). Picking up a little Bengali is my next goal - we have an awesome community here"
"And by bit, I mean like 10 words trying out here," she added.
