Upcoming Volkswagen Cars: Volkswagen India has confirmed two new launches for Q2 2025. The German auto manufacturer will launch the Golf GTI and Tiguan R-Line in India and will be in showrooms in May 2025. Volkswagen will bring these two models via the CBU route and will be limited in number. The automaker will introduce the MK 8.5 version of the Golf GTI, and the new generation of the Tiguan will be in its top-spec trim, the Tiguan R-Line variant.

“We are elated to bring our global icons to customers in India – the all-new Volkswagen Tiguan R-line and the legendary Golf GTI. We strongly believe these icons are truly aspirational and will permeate excitement among customers and fans of the brand. The two new carlines will be introduced in early Q2’2025 and will progressively strengthen the brands’ presence in India,” Mr Ashish Gupta, Brand Director, Volkswagen India said.

Here’s a rundown of the upcoming Volkswagen Golf GTI, Tiguan R-Line in India:

Volkswagen Golf GTI:

The upcoming Golf GTI will hit the Indian roads for the first time, in the MK 8.5 avatar. It is a performance hatchback with a single-engine option for the buyers. The Golf GTI will come with a 2.0L inline four-cylinder turbo petrol engine, producing 261BHP and 370Nm torque, paired with a seven-speed DSG transmission. Volkswagen claims it can have a 0-100km/h sprint in 5.9 seconds and a top speed of 250 km/h.

Since Volkswagen is bringing it via the CBU route, it will be limited in numbers in the first lot.

Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line:

Coming to the next model that is coming to India, is the Tiguan R-Line. Tiguan was first launched in 2021 in India, and now it is coming in an updated variant in the market. It will be powered by a 2.0L inline four-cylinder turbo petrol engine, producing 190BHP and 320Nm torque. Since Volkswagen is bringing it via the CBU route, it will also be limited in numbers in the first lot.
