Ambulance service provider Dial4242 raises Rs 1 crore in seed funding

Ambulance service provider Dial4242 on Monday raised Rs 1 crore in seed funding round. The funding round was led by investors G Vamshi Raju, Managing Director at Visista Insurance Broking, Starfish Ventures, and several Hyderabad-based angel investors.

G Vamshi Raju, MD, Visista Insurance Broking Pvt Ltd said, “Investing in Dial4242 isn't merely a strategic decision; it's a commitment to elevating lives. This investment transcends financial objectives; it's about actively contributing to lifesaving solutions and fostering greater healthcare accessibility. In India, the ambulance and healthcare sector holds pivotal significance and I believe Dial4242 can be a game changer. Being a part of the insurance sector for over two decades, have given us a profound understanding of the imperative nature of immediate medical assistance during emergencies.”

The funds will be used for expanding its countrywide presence and reaffirming its commitment to catering to communities, corporates and individuals with accessible and convenient healthcare services, Dial4242 said in a statement.

The secured capital will be pivotal in expanding our reach and enhancing our services.”

Dial4242 claims to be the only ambulance service provider in India that has signed up with an insurance player and is supporting their policyholders.  

The company has partnered with brands including Swiggy and Zomato and is supporting their delivery partners with ambulances in 15 minutes. It is also doing Mobile medical unit (MMU) support for several clients, it added.

Founded in 2016 by Jeetu Lalwani and Nilesh Mhambre, Dial4242 is an app-based ambulance network. The mobile app connects users to emergency facilities by providing timely ambulance service when required. With just one or a call, a patient can have the company's associated ambulances at the location of their choice.
