Hyundai Launches All-New Venue and Venue N Line, Priced Between ₹7.89 Lakh and ₹11.11 Lakh
Hyundai Motor India unveiled the all-new VENUE and VENUE N Line, priced from Rs 7.89–11.11 lakh. The models, first to roll out from Hyundai’s Pune plant, mark a global debut and reinforce the brand’s “Make in India for the World” vision with new design, tech, and safety features.
Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) on Tuesday launched the latest generation of its popular compact SUV — the all-new Hyundai Venue and Venue N Line — priced from Rs 7.89 lakh to Rs 11.11 lakh (ex-showroom). The unveiling marked the global debut of both models and reinforced Hyundai’s “Make in India for the World” vision.
The new Venu is the first vehicle to roll out from Hyundai’s new manufacturing facility in Pune, signifying a major step in the company’s India growth story. This launch also initiates Hyundai’s broader plan to introduce 26 new products in the Indian market by 2030.
Unsoo Kim, Managing Director of HMIL, added that the new models represent a defining milestone for the company. “This is our first product from the Pune plant, and it reflects our long-term vision and the Rs 45,000 crore investment we’ve announced for India,” he noted.
Tarun Garg, Whole-Time Director and COO of HMIL, said the Venue has been instrumental to Hyundai’s success since its debut in 2019. “With over seven lakh units sold, the Venue continues to be one of the top three compact SUVs in India. Manufacturing the new VENUE exclusively in India for global markets is a moment of pride for us,” he said.
SUVs continues to be volumes driver
Even as the government’s GST rate reduction has made smaller cars more affordable, Hyundai believes the SUV story remains the real growth driver of the Indian automobile market. Garg, who is set to take over as Hyundai Motor India’s Managing Director and CEO in January, said consumers are increasingly upgrading to compact and mid-sized SUVs rather than moving to smaller cars.
“In the January–August period, hatchbacks accounted for 22.4% of total passenger vehicle sales, but the share dropped to 20% in October,” Garg said, citing internal data. “SUVs now dominate with 57% of total PV sales, and compact SUVs alone contribute around 41%.”
Hyundai’s own SUV range — led by the Creta and Venue — now contributes 71% of the company’s domestic sales, and this could rise to 80% by 2030, he added.
Garg noted that the compact SUV segment, where Venue competes with the likes of Maruti Brezza, Tata Nexon, Mahindra XUV 3XO and Kia Sonet, continues to grow with customers upgrading from small cars.
“The segment, which recorded sales of nearly 80,000 units between January and August, saw volumes climb to about 94,000 units in September and October,” he said, adding that the post-GST structure has boosted demand. “Small SUVs now enjoy a notable tax advantage — roughly 13% on diesel variants and 11% on petrol models.” He further pointed out that compact SUVs make up nearly 41% of the total SUV market, while SUVs as a whole contribute around 57% of all passenger vehicle sales in the country.
“The shift in buyer preference is clear — more customers, including a growing number of first-time car owners, are choosing to move up to larger, feature-rich compact SUVs,” Garg observed.
A Global SUV, built in India
The new VENUE line-up features refreshed styling, enhanced safety systems, and advanced connectivity designed for smarter driving. With its launch, Hyundai aims to not only strengthen its foothold in India’s thriving SUV market but also position the country as a global production hub for the brand’s next generation of vehicles.
