IFGL Refractories plans to establish research centre in Odisha
The company reported a revenue of Rs 460 crore and a net profit of Rs 38 crore at the close of the second quarter of the current fiscal year.
IFGL Refractories, a refractory manufacturer based in the city, has announced the establishment of a cutting-edge research centre in Kalunga, Odisha.
James McIntosh, the Managing Director of IFGL Refractories, stated that the facility will boast world-class capabilities for fundamental research and include metal melting facilities to verify material, steel, and slag interface reactions.
McIntosh emphasised the importance of creating, documenting, benchmarking, and developing the company's intellectual property for future growth. The research centre will particularly focus on basic research to facilitate this goal.
Additionally, the company aims to concentrate on developing processes and products that support business growth through sustainable material programmes, aiming to minimise their environmental impact.
As the flagship company of the S K Bajoria group, IFGL operates manufacturing facilities across Asia, Europe, and North America.
