Price control cannot be a long-term solution: Bhubaneswar Kalita

Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Health and Family Welfare, Bhubaneswar Kalita, has emphasised that price control measures should not be considered a long-term solution. Instead, he advocates for the promotion of market development and the implementation of rule-based competition as the preferred policy tools.

Kalita made these remarks during a discussion on the relevance of the theme 'polycrisis' at the 8th CUTS, CIRC Biennial event. The current edition of the event focuses on prioritising social sectors in the midst of the multifaceted challenges facing the world.

Rule-based competition 

He stressed the importance of promoting rule-based competition as a more effective approach to addressing various issues.
