As the nation gears up to commemorate its 76th Independence Day, the government has launched Har Ghar Tirangan Abhiyan 2.0, an initiative encouraging citizens to proudly hoist the national flag in their homes. To make the Tricolour easily accessible to every Indian, the Department of Post has taken a step to offer the Indian national flag for purchase through both online and offline channels.

The Har Ghar Tiranga campaign, scheduled to take place from August 13 to August 15, 2023, will see a widespread distribution of the national flag through India's extensive postal network, encompassing approximately 1.60 lakh post offices across the nation. As part of this campaign, citizens can avail themselves of the Tricolour at a nominal cost of Rs 25 per flag, as highlighted in a recent press release dated August 2, 2023.

India Post has introduced an online platform also for the hassle-free purchase of the national flag, making it a convenient option for citizens from all corners of the country. The online sale will be facilitated through the official India Post website, www.indiapost.gov.in.

  2. Log in using the registered credentials to access the online portal.
  3. Navigate to the 'Products' section and select 'National Flag' to add it to the shopping cart.
  4. on 'Buy Now', verify your mobile number with the OTP (One-Time Password) sent to your registered phone.
  5. Proceed to the payment section and make the payment of Rs 25 through your preferred mode of transaction.

During the online purchase, the department urges customers to fill out accurate delivery details, including the number of flags required. Initially, customers could buy a maximum of 5 flags per order. To add to the convenience, the Department of Posts is ensuring free delivery of the Tricolour to customers, with no additional shipping charges.

For those who prefer a more traditional shopping experience, the Tricolour will also be available for purchase at the nearest post offices across the country. Citizens can visit their local post office during the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign days and purchase the flag at the same cost of Rs 25 per piece.

Notably, there will be no application of Goods and Services Tax (GST) on the sale price of Rs 25, making it an affordable option for all citizens wishing to display their patriotic fervour. The Har Ghar Tiranga Abhiyan 2.0 emphasises the significance of the national flag as a symbol of India's sovereignty and unity, uniting citizens in a shared celebration of freedom and nationhood.
