India vs England: Former Pakistan captain and legendary seamer Wasim Akram rang the iconic five-minute bell at the Old Trafford to kick off Day 03 of the Manchester Test, on Friday, July 25th. 

Before the start of Day 03, the former Pakistan captain rang the bell at Old Trafford.

Wasim Akram Rings Bell On Day 3 In Old Trafford Test

England's Barmy Army took to their official X (Formerly Twitter) handle and shared a photo of Wasim Akram ringing the bell on Day 03 in the Manchester Test.

"Wasim Akram ringing the five minute bell at @EmiratesOT," England's Barmy Army wrote on X.

Wasim Akram's Stats In International Cricket

Wasim Akram made his Pakistan debut in the ODI format in 1984 against New Zealand at Faisalabad. In the 50-over format, Wasim Akram played 356 ODIs and 351 innings, picking up 502 wickets at an economy rate of 3.89 and an average of 23.52.

Akram played his maiden Test match for Pakistan in 1985 against New Zealand in Auckland. In the long format, the left-arm seamer took 414 wickets from 104 Tests and 181 innings, at an economy rate of 2.59, and a bowling average of 23.62.

The 59-year-old was also known for his batting abilities. In Test cricket, Akram scored 2898 runs from 147 innings at an average of 22.64. Meanwhile, he scored 3717 runs in the 50-over format for the Men in Green.

In the first-class cricket, Wasim Akram played 257 matches, bagging 1042 wickets at a bowling average of 21.64, and an economy rate of 2.69.

At Stumps on Day 02, England stood at 225/2, with Ollie Pope (20*) and Joe Root (11*) unbeaten on the crease. England openers Zak Crawley (84*) and Ben Duckett (94*) displayed a stunning performance and put the Three Lions in the driver's seat after a 166-run opening stand.

India's first inning ended at 358, Sai Sudharsan (61), Yashasvi Jaiswal (58), and Rishabh Pant (54) were the top run scorers for the visitors.
