ICC Men's U19 World Cup 2026: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), on Saturday, December 27, has announced the 15-member squad for the upcoming ICC Men's U19 World Cup 2026.

Ayush Mhatre To Captain India In U19 World Cup 2026

Ayush Mhatre will be leading the 15-member India squad in the upcoming U19 World Cup 2026. Meanwhile, Vihaan Malhotra has been appointed as Mhatre's deputy.

14-year-old cricket sensation Vaibhav Suryavanshi has also been added to the squad following his stupendous performance in the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025. Abhigyan Kundu and Harvansh Singh are the two wicketkeepers who are included in the squad.

In the recently concluded U19 Asia Cup 2025, Team India displayed a stunning performance throughout the tournament. But conceded a defeat in the finals and failed to get a chance to hold the silverware.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi To Lead India During South Africa Tour

The 15-member squad for the U19 World Cup 2026 will also feature during the tour of South Africa for the three-match ODI series in Benoni.

The BCCI also revealed that Ayush Mhatre and Vihaan Malhotra will not be playing in the three-match ODI series against U19 South Africa, after sustaining wrist injuries.

Mhatre and Malhotra report to the BCCI Centre of Excellence, start their recovery process, and following that, they will join the rest of the squad for the U19 World Cup 2026.

In the absence of Ayush Mhatre, Vaibhav Suryavanshi will be leading the India U19 Team for the ODIs against the Proteas.

The U19 World Cup 2026 is scheduled to be held in Zimbabwe and Namibia from 15th January to 6th February. The upcoming edition of the U19 World Cup will feature 16 teams divided into four groups, followed by the Super Six stage, semi-finals, and the final in Harare.
