The Suryakumar Yadav-led Indian cricket team posted their highest-ever T20 World Cup Innings total after a string of poor performances and a harrowing defeat to South Africa. The batting unit finally displayed the finesse they lacked as they smashed the Zimbabwean bowling attack with a cracker of an innings.

Team India opted for some changes in the Playing XI after the top-order was outright exposed against slower deliveries and off-spin bowlers. Despite going unbeaten in the group stage, their batting attack dealt with significant trouble.

Team India Registers Their Largest Innings Total In T20 World Cup History

In the Super 8 tie against Zimbabwe, the Suryakumar Yadav-led Men in Blue scored 256 runs at the loss of four wickets. Team India broke their 19-year-old record after registering the mammoth total in their innings.

It was back in 2007 when the Indian side posted their highest innings total in Durban, scoring 218/4 against England Cricket.

The 256/4 total against Zimbabwe is also the highest innings score achieved in theongoing marquee tournament.

The smashing total against ZIM is the second-highest overall total in the history of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup. Sri Lanka has maintained their supremacy in the leaderboard after smashing a whopping 260/6 against Kenya in Johannesburg back in 2007.
