NIRF Ranking 2024 LIVE Updates: Check Top IITs, IIMs, Law and Other Colleges in India

IGNOU has been ranked the best open university in India.  Netaji Subhash Open University Kolkata is ranked 2nd. Baba Saheb Ambedkar Open University, Ahmedabad is ranked 3rd. 

Symbiosis Skills and Professional University, Pune has been ranked the best skill university in India. 

Shri Vishwakarma University, Palwal and Bhartiya Skill Development University, Jaipur have been ranked 2nd, and 3rd, respectively. 

Top State Universities in India: Anna University, Chennai has  been ranked the best state public university in India. Jadavpur University, Kolkata and SPPU, Pune have got 2nd and 3rd ranks, respectively.  

Hindu College has bagged the best college rank in NIRF Rankings 2024. 

Jamia Hamdard has been ranked the best pharmacy college. 

IISC Bengaluru has been ranked the best university. JNU has been ranked 2nd and Jamia Millia Islamia has been ranked 3rd.

3 new categories have been added in NIRF Rankings 2024. Last year, there were 13 categories. The 3 new categories include:

3. Skills Universities 

A rise of 200% has been recorded in the number of applications for NIRF rankings 2024. A total of 10, 885 applications have been received this year. 

The event where the education minister will announce the NIRF Rankings 2024 has begun. 

Union education minister, Dharmendra Pradhan will shortly announce the NIRF India rankings 2024.

NIRF framework outlines a methodology to rank institutions across the country. The methodology draws from the overall recommendations broad understanding arrived at by a Core Committee set up by MHRD, to identify the broad parameters for ranking various universities and institutions. The parameters broadly cover “Teaching, Learning and Resources,” “Research and Professional Practices,” “Graduation Outcomes,” “Outreach and Inclusivity,” and “Perception”.

The Ministry of Education will announce the rankings of top Indian universities today at 3 pm.
