Former IAF Chief R.K.S Bhadauria Joins BJP Ahead of Lok Sabha Polls, Likely To be Fielded From UP

Rakesh Singh Bhadauria hails from Uttar Pradesh from where the BJP is yet to name its candidates from several seats for the Lok Sabha elections.

New Delhi: Former Indian Air Force Chief Rakesh Kumar Singh Bhauria joined BJP on Sunday, March 24, ahe of crucial Lok Sabha polls. 

Former Chief of Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal (Retd.) RKS Bhauria joined BJP in presence of party General Secretary Vid Tawde and Union Minister Anurag Thakur. Along with him, former YSRCP leer Varapras Rao Velagapalli also joined saffron party in national capital.

BJP General Secretary Vid Tawde lauded Bhauria's long service in Indian Air Force (IAF) and expressed confidence that he will w contribute actively in political field after playing an active role in defence forces. BJP leer said Bhauria spent nearly 40 years in IAF and contributed to Aatmanirbhar Bharat programme of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Bhauria Likely To be Fielded From Uttar Presh 

Bhauria hails from Uttar Presh. Bhauria said his new innings gives him a chance to contribute to nation-building.

BJP is yet to name its candidates from several seats in state for Lok Sabha elections and Bhauria is likely to be fielded from Uttar Presh for upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

Bhauria Heaps Praises on PM Modi 

Having retired in 2021, he termed last eight to 10 years of his service as a "golden period", praising steps taken by Modi government to boost self-reliance and modernise armed forces. He ted that it was this government that fulfilled demand for 'One Rank, One Pension' of armed forces veterans, scrapped Article 370 and boosted country's internal security.

He also praised its measures for national security and lauded Modi's foresight, saying steps taken across various departments will help country emerge stronger. “ tough steps taken by this government to empower and modernise our armed forces and make m self-reliant have t only given rise to a new capability in forces but also given m a new confidence. results of self-reliant move by government can be seen on ground,” said Bhauria after joining BJP.

Rao, a former IAS officer, said Modi is most dynamic politician he has seen and lauded his government's development initiatives.
