Bollywood News: Aamir Khan, who is affectionately called Mr Perfectionist, has made a name for himself in the Indian film industry with his distinctive role choices and outstanding performances. Recently, the Lagaan actor made a few revelations about his future in Bollywood, which has taken everyone by surprise.
Aamir Khan to leave films?
In a podcast, Aamir Khan opened up about stepping away from films. He said, “Mujhey filmon se hatna hai." Could it be that he is hinting at retirement from acting shortly. Interestingly, the Dangal star has taken keen interest in producing films over the years and is actively backing new projects under his banner
When Aamir opened up about not wanting to be an actor
Aamir stated in a 1988 interview that he had vowed as a child to avoid the film industry and that he had never intended to be an actor.
He said, “Acting was far remote from my thoughts, my 'filmi' connections disillusioned me further. My dad (Tahir Hussain) being a producer, paid the directors and artistes; yet, he had to regularly chase them, as they would play musical chairs with him before completing his films. Seeing these unfavourable conditions. I vowed that I would never become a producer or have anything to do with films."
What’s next for Aamir Khan?
Aamir Khan is likely to join the pan-India bandwagon with his upcoming project. He has reportedly signed on to feature in Leo, Vikram and Kaithi fame Lokesh Kanagaraj's untitled next. The Bollywood superstar will be seen in Sitaare Zameen Par next and this will also mark Aamir's return to the silver screen after 2022's Laal Singh Chaddha.
Recently, the actor co-produced Laapataa Ladies with its director and his former wife Kiran Rao. His next production is Rajkumar Santoshi's Lahore 1947, starring Sunny Deol and Preity Zinta.
