Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli welcomes their second child, a baby boy, on February 15. The announcement for the same was shared by the couple separately, on their social media handles, five days later, on February 20.The announcement has also revealed the name of their son - Akaay. The comments section of the post now stands flooded with congratulatory messages on the big news.

Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli's respective announcements saw several industry peers express their well wishes for the couple and the newborn. First among them, was Alia Bhatt who wrote, "How beautiful! Congratulations". Rakul Preet Singh, who will be tying the knot on February 21 with Jackky Bhagnani, commented, "god bless" preceded by a series of hearts. Neha Dhupia chimed in, also congratulating Vamika. Her comment read, "Congratulations you guys … our @anushkasharma @virat.kohli and our cutie #vamika".

Don 3 director Farhan Akhtar's unique comment read, "Congratulations and a happy birthday to the little man" Preity Zinta commented, "Congratulations and loads of love" followed by a series of hearts. Ranveer Singh simply commented a series of hearts and evil eyes for the now family of four. Among other celebrities who congratulated the newly expanded family were Sonam Kapoor, Neena Gupta, Mouni Roy, PV Sindhu and Bhumi Pednekar to name a few.

Back in August of 2020, Anushka and Virat shared the same picture to their respective social media handles which featured the evidently pregnant actress beaming along side her cricketer husband. The caption to their post read, “And then, we were three! Arriving Jan 2021”

While Anushka's post garnered 6,229,379 likes, the same picture shared by Virat garnered 11,180,385 likes. The duo welcomes Vamika on January 11, 2021. She is currently three years old.
