Orry Drinking Case: One Of The 8 Accused Rashi Dutta Says, 'People Don't Know Facts, I Was There But...'

Orry Drinking Case: The socialite, among eight people, was booked for allegedly consuming alcohol at a hotel in Katra, the base camp for the pilgrimage to Mata Vaishno Devi shrine in Reasi district. One of the eight accused, Rashi Dutta spoke to Republic and clarified what happened in the hotel room. A mother of one, Rashi insisted that she is innocent and was snapped with Orry as she was waiting to a picture with him.

In the police complaint, Rashi Dutta was mentioned along with Orry and six others for "violating the law of the land" and "hurting the sentiments of people". The Jammu and Kashmir police officials told PTI, that the group was consuming alcohol and non-vegetarian food inside the hotel premises, despite being told that it was not allowed. Speaking to Republic Media Network, Rashi refused all allegations against her.

She informed us that it was just a coincidence that she happened to be there when the incident took place. She said, “We were just ing pictures with a celebrity. I have a one-year-old son, I thought I could get a picture of him with the celebrities. I am a hardcore vegetarian, I am breastfeeding." Talking about the purpose of her visit she said, “My husband was invited by his client for some business discussion when we came to know that some celebrity has come. Then I thought to a picture. In the viral photo also we can be seen waiting to get our photo ed." Refusing all allegations against her, Rashi said, “People do not know the facts. Just because we are in the photo, does not mean we were involved. I was there, but not with Orry and his friends. I have no idea what was happening there.”

She further mentioned that she is a teetotaller and does not drink alcohol or consume non-vegetarian food. Rashi added, “I am a teetotaler. Hum toh Brahim hai, we do not even eat eggs.” She concluded by saying, "Orry should be arrested, and his organisers should be punished. We were just ing pictures."  

Orry and the other accused are yet to react to the allegations.
