The movie was released 21 years after its first part Gadar: Ek Prem Katha (2001) and the lead actors reprised their roles as Tara and Sakeena. The second part of Gadar hit the big screens 23 years after the first part. The movie is the first franchise movie to have been released at a gap of over two decades and yet become a blockbuster. It also ranks third among the all-time opening day collections of sequels for all Bollywood movies.
Gadar 2 became the fastest film to cross ₹450 crore mark
At the time of release, Gadar 2 had become the fastest film to cross ₹450 crore mark at the box office. The film achieved the feat in just 16 days beating Pathaan (18 days) and Bahubali 2 (20 days).
Gadar 2 became one of the biggest openers of 2023
2023 was one of the best years for Bollywood in the recent times. Most of the movies released in the year performed exceptionally well. At the end of the year, Gadar 2 registered itself in the top 5 openers of the year. The film followed Pathaan, Jawan, Animal and Tiger 3 to clench the fifth spot.

Gadar 2 has also become the highest-grossing film of Sunny Deol's career. The film entered ₹100 crore club within three days of release. The film minted the ₹525.45 cr. in its lifetime collection in India.
Gadar 2 registered record numbers in advance bookings
Gadar 2 madness had begun even before the film hit the big screens. The movie was even credited with reviving single-screen cinema. Even before its release, the movie raked in a staggering advanced booking. For instance, for Independence Day, which was the fifth day after release, the movie sold 1.2 million tickets accounting for a total gross of Rs 30 crores in Advance Booking.
