Ibrahim Ali Khan made his debut with Nadaaniyan alongside Khushi Kapoor. Upon release on Netflix, the movie received negative reviews from the movie buffs with everyone criticising the storyline and performance of the actors. Among the critics is Hrithik Roshan's mother Pinkie Roshan. She has also joined the chorus but unlike others, she likes Ibrahim's performance in the movie.

Freddy Birdy's review on Nadaaniyan

It all started when an Instagram page Freddy Birdy shared a long review as to why the movie is not worth the time. "Two things immediately disqualify me from writing a review for Nadaaniyan. One, I am not in my twenties. And two, I have a brain. Having got that little detail out of the way, I liked the fact that we are slowly steering back to the mindless romantic comedy, full emphasis on being mindless," wrote Freddy Birdy.

The post continued that Nadaaniyan seemed like a third installment of Student of the Year showing the "Crazy Rich Asians" with the surnames Singhania, Jaisingh and Oberoi, while the poor with the surnames "Mehta, Wagle and Birdy". He also pointed out the recurrent plot that rich people are shallow whereas poor people are blissfully content. "Poor people are doctors, and they live in Noida. Show me a poor doctor today, and I will watch Nadaaniyan thrice…” read further.

What was the beautiful part according to Freddy Birdy was it "stays completely away from anything remotely original". The post further mentioned why the reviewer liked Ibrahim in the film, "You get two actors in one: the visuals of Saif Ali Khan and the voice of Sanjay Dutt."

The post also applauded Netflix as amid the successful and hit content like Sacred Games, Jamtara, Darlings and Delhi Crime they have given viewers movies like Nadaaniyan. "Finally, I applaud Netflix. Why do stunning work like Sacred Games, Jamtara, Darlings and Delhi Crime when you can give the viewer stuff like Nadaaniyan… Watch it at your own risk,” the review concluded.

Soon after the post was dropped, Hrithik's mother noticed and liked the post. She also shared her two cents in the comment section agreeing with the review. She wrote, "Totally go with this hilarious review tho I loved Ibrahim Ali Khan."

However, it backfired her as netizens reminded her of her niece Pashmina Roshan, who made her debut last year with the movie Ishq Vishk Rebound. Even she was widely criticised for her performance.
