Alia who made her Bollywood debut with Karan Johar's 'Student of the Year' in 2012 has always been very close to the filmmaker. In fact, Karan considers Alia as the 'Big sister' for his children Roohi Johar and Yash Johar. Previously, during Rakhi, he shared a picture of Alia and his son Yash in which the 'Raazi' star was seen tying the holy thread on Yash's hand. Meanwhile, on the work front, Alia Bhatt will next be seen in the Ayan Mukherji directorial titled, 'Brahmastra'. The upcoming film also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Akkineni Nagarjuna, Ranbir Kapoor and Mouni Roy in the lead. The making of 'Brahmastra' was officially announced on October 11, 2017, by producer Karan Johar who also revealed that it would be made into a three-part trilogy. The fantasy drama is both written and directed by Ayan Mukerji and is slated to hit the theatres on August 15, 2019.
Moreover, Alia will also be featured in Karan Johar's upcoming epic drama 'Takht' that will be helmed by Johar himself. On August 9, he made the official announcement of the making and the cast of the film. Beside Alia, the movie also stars Ranveer Singh, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Vicky Kaushal, Bhumi Pednekar, Janhvi Kapoor and Anil Kapoor.
