Krrish 4: Not Rakesh Roshan, But Hrithik To Be The Director Of Superhero Flick, Join Hands With Aditya Chopra

Hrithik Roshan is busy filming most anticipated film War 2, a part of YRF’s Spy Universe. Apart from War 2, Hrithik Roshan also has another eagerly awaited project in the pipeline, ie, Krrish 4. In the latest update, the actor is all set to follow his father Rakesh Roshan’s footsteps as he will be making his directorial debut with the superhero franchise.

Hrithik Roshan to don the hat of director for Krrish 4?

Taran Adarsh took to his X handle and shared the latest update about Krrish 4. He wrote in the caption, “Bigg News- it’s official…Rakesh Roshan, Aditya Chopra to jointly produce Krrish 4…Hrithik Roshan turns director…#HrithikRoshan turns director for #India's biggest superhero franchise #Krrish4. #Krrish4 will be produced by #AdityaChopra [#YashRajFilms] in association with #RakeshRoshan.”

Soon fans flooded the comment section to express their excitement. One user wrote, “Wow, YRF has really joined. Now, the best and biggest superhero movie is coming from India”. Another user wrote, “This is huge and the biggest budget in Hindi cinema and director Hrithik Roshan?”. “Woah, crazy news”, wrote the third user.

Rakesh Roshan confirmed the report and said, “I am passing the baton of the director of Krrish 4 to my son Hrithik Son, who has lived, breathed and dreamt about this franchise since its inception with me. Hrithik has a clear and very ambitious vision of taking Krrish’s journey forward with the audience the next decades.” The script is locked and pre-production work is going on in fill swing as the aim is to take the film on floors in early 2026.

The filmmaker expressed his happiness and gratitude as Aditya Chopra will be taking over Krrish 4 as the producer. He said, “It brings me so much joy to see someone like Adi as the producer of Krrish 4 and he was the one who convinced Hrithik to sit in the director’s chair.  Adi and Yash Raj films would add great value to this project”.

All about Krrish franchise 

Known for portraying India's beloved superhero, Hrithik Roshan addressed the persistent curiosity surrounding Krrish 4. He acknowledged the eagerness of fans to witness the next chapter but emphasised that it's still in the works. Expressing optimism, he told Pinkvilla, "Things are falling into place. I am smiling, I am happy, but a long way to go still."

The Krrish franchise began with Koi Mil Gaya (2003), starring Hrithik and Preity Zinta . On witnessing the success of the movie, Rakesh Roshan decided to make a sequel with the title Krrish. For the unversed, Krrish 3 was released on November 1, 2013. Directed by Rakesh Roshan, the film featured Hrithik Roshan, Priyanka Chopra, Kangana Ranaut , Vivek Oberoi, Shaurya Chauhan and Arif Zakaria among others.
