Neha Sharma Reveals Reason Behind Not Attending Award Shows: Don’t Feel Like They Are Genuine…

Days after Aamir Khan expressed their disinterest in attending Bollywood parties, Neha Sharma also weighed in with her opinion on the matter. The actress said she doesn’t feel like these events are genuine and in most cases winners are pre-decided. She added that there is a lot of lobbying involved for the nominations and you only win if you are part of the big Bollywood camps. 

Neha Sharma gets candid about award shows

In a conversation with DNA, Neha was asked about her absence from the award events. The actress talked about coming from outside the industry and how many things surprised her when she first started working in it. One among them was the predetermined nature of most award shows. She said, “I don’t go into award shows anymore because I don’t feel like they are genuine. So, I don’t want to be part of it. Obviously, this is something new to me I went there once and I realised they already know who is winning what and it’s not real.” 

“There is a lot of lobbying there for nomination. Then there is lobbying to win. If you are not part of any lobby, you are not going to be part of the awards. I quickly realised that it’s all taken already. They know who we have to make win and who should performing, and who we have to make the next star,” Neha concluded. 

Yami Gautam takes a dig at “fake filmy” awards

Previously, Yami Gautam had also expressed her disappointment with the rigged award shows in India. Praising Cillian Murphy for his 2023 Oscar win, the actress had said, “Having no belief in any of the current fake “filmy” awards, since the last few years, I stopped attending them but today I am feeling really happy for an extraordinary actor who stands for patience, resilience & so many more emotions.”
