Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas actor Karan Deol talks about getting reality checks about acting from father and director Sunny Deol on and off-camers for his debut film.
Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas starring Karan Deol and Saher Bambba released on September 20 this year. The film that was a debut for both the lead actors, was directed by Karan’s father Sunny Deol. Karan Deol in an interview with a media portal discussed the reality check he received from father Sunny Deol while shooting the film. Find out more details about these father-son conversations here.
Karan Deol spoke in the candid interview regarding the little notes he received while being directed by his father Sunny Deol. The 28-year-old debutant stated that Sunny Deol is strict as a director rather than a father. The Ghayal Once Again actor expected the shot to be perfected by the lead pair hence involved multiple takes while shooting. Karan said that he understood this perspective of his father who was in the director’s chair. He further revealed that Sunny Deol would give them directions every time he and Saher could not get the right emotions for a scene. Karan considered his father Sunny Deol to be a blessing on the set and was happy to receive these few reality checks from him.
First day jitters and grandfather's reaction
During the film’s promotional event in Lucknow, Karan spoke about an incident from the first day of his shoot. He said that he cried since he was not able to nail the first shot itself and was drowning in nervousness. Everybody on the set was watching his failed attempts during multiple takes of a simple dialogue delivery said the actor. Karan, later on, added that his first-day jitters were to blame for the delay caused at the shoo. His father also gave him tips to improve himself for his scenes once the duo was back at home after the schedule for the day came to an end.

Karan Deol was further questioned in another interview regarding his grandfather Dharmendra’s reaction to watching him on the big screen for the first time. The actor stated that he was glad to reply to the question. He said that his grandfather was oblivious to his acting skills and that the yesteryear actor appreciated him and told Karan that he is destined for great things.
