The makers of Raid 2 finally unveiled the teaser. The sequel to 2018 film, Ajay Devgn is set to reprise his role as IRS officer Amay Patnaik, while Riteish Deshmukh will be playing the role of antagonist. Soon, netizens took to social media platforms to share their verdict about the upcoming thriller.
Netizens react to Ajay Devgn’s Raid 2 teaser
The clip of Raid 2 showcases Saurabh Shukla’s character thinking what is Amay Patnaik up to. It is followed by Devgn’s introduction and Shukla’s voiceover about Patnaik’s 75th raid on Dada Bhai’s residence. The second installment of Raid sets the premise of an epic clash between Ajay Devgn and Ritiesh Deshmukh.
Netizens flooded the comment section and are applauding for the performances by the cast. One user wrote, “Sure shot blockbuster”. Another user wrote, “"Maine Kab Kaha Mein Pandav Hoon, Mein Toh Puri Mahabharat Hoon" was epic!”. “Riteish Deshmukh in a serious role! Wow!”, wrote the third user. All about Raid 2
Raid 2 is an upcoming crime thriller helmed by Raj Kumar Gupta. It stars Ajay Devgn, Riteish Deshmukh, Vaani Kapoor, Rajat Kapoor, Saurabh Shukla, Supriya Pathak, Amit Sial and Yashpal Sharma among others.
Ajay Devgn reprises his role as Amay Patnaik from the prequel. In January 2024, Riteish Deshmukh was cast as the villain, while Vaani Kapoor was cast alongside Devgn, replacing Ileana D'Cruz. Raid was released in 2018 and also starred Saurabh Shukla and Ileana D'Cruz. It was inspired by a real-life raid conducted by the officers of the Income Tax Department in the 1980s. Ileana played Ajay's wife in the first installment of movie.
Raid 2 is scheduled to be released on 1 May 2025, International Labour Day and Maharashtra Day. It was originally slated for a theatrical release on 15 November 2024, and then 21 February 2025, but was delayed due to reasons unknown.
