Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi and Yash are gearing up for the release of their highly anticipated movie, Ramayana. A few days ago, Sony Pictures announced that the movie is scheduled to be released on November 6, on the occasion of Dhanteras. However, it seems that the release date is only for overseas theatres. Producer Namit Malhotra has announced a new release date for India, and it holds great importance for all Hindus.

When will Ramayana release in India?

Namit Malhotra, during an interview, clarified the release date. He revealed that in India, the movie will release on November 8, on the auspicious occasion of Diwali. This will help the film's business of the film, enjoying an extended holiday at the box office.

Internationally, the film will release on November 6, as announced by production house Sony Pictures.

Meanwhile, the Ramayana trailer is receiving widespread praise for the actors' performances, particularly Yash as Ravana. The audience has also praised the casting choices, supporting Sai Pallavi as Sita and Ranbir as Lord Rama. However, they questioned the makers for not introducing Lord Hanuman, played by Sunny Deol in the trailer. He is the key character, as he is considered a bhakt of Lord Rama.

Namit Malhotra expresses gratitude for the positive trailer response

Speaking to ANI, Namit shared, "The trailer was released last week and I think it crossed over a billion views in five days, which is a great moment for India. I really appreciate all the love we've got from people all over the world. The aspiration is to now take it to the world as we are with our partnership with Sony Pictures. We are hoping to make sure that Ramayana now releases globally as a big universal film."

The ensemble cast also includes Lara Dutta, Ravie Dubey, Kunal Kapur, Vivek Oberoi, Rakul Preet Singh and Arun Govil, in important roles.
