When Samantha Ruth Prabhu had revealed her health condition and said that she is suffering from Myositis. Talking about the side effects of Myositis on her body, Samantha said, "One day I am puffy, one day I am fat, one day I am sick. I have no control over how I look. As an actor, your eyes are a medium to express emotions and every day, I wake up with pins and needles in my eyes. I am sensitive to light. I don’t wear glasses just for fun and style, the light actually affects my eyes. I have an intense migraine, and I have intense pain in my eyes, they swell from the pain and this has been the case for the past 8 months.”

TV actress Sana Makbul had opened up about her health condition during Bharti Singh’s podcast. She said that she has a liver disease and it was diagnosed in 2020. It has no specific symptoms. In this her body cells are attacking the organ.

What is Autoimmune hepatitis and Myositis?

According to a report in NIH, Autoimmune hepatitis is a chronic and progressive inflammation of the liver from an unknown cause. The interplay of genetic predisposition, an environmental trigger, and failure of the native immune system resulting in chronic inflammation of hepatocytes and subsequent fibrosis of the liver. Reportedly, Sixty percent of patients have chronic hepatitis but without serologic evidence of a viral infection. The disease is associated with anti-smooth muscle autoantibodies.

Myositis aka Idiopathic inflammatory myopathies, known as rare diseases characterised by inflammation and weakened of the skeletal muscles which can also involve internal organs such as the lungs, heart and oesophagus.
