Rajvir Jawanda Succumbs To Critical Injuries Suffered In Solan Bike Crash, 35-Year-Old Punjabi Singer Spent A Fortnight On Life Support
Popular Punjabi singer Rajvir Jawanda has passed away after a 10-day fight for life following a tragic road accident in Solan, Himachal Pradesh. His death leaves a deep void in the Punjabi music world, triggering an outpouring of grief across fans and artists.
Rajvir Jawanda, who was battling for his life after a major road accident on September 27, has died. INC Punjab President Amarinder Singh Raja Warring has confirmed the news of his death. He took to his social media handle and expressed his sorrow at the passing of the Punjabi singer. He was 35. He was seriously injured in an accident in Himachal Pradesh's Solan district while going to Shimla on a motorcycle.
"Saddened by the passing away of Rajvir jaivanda ji. We all prayed for his speedy recovery but sadly god had other plans. My heart goes out to his family, friends and fans who are shattered with this tragic loss. May Waheguru grant eternal peace to the departed soul and give strength to his loved ones to bear this tragic loss. RIP," read Warring's post.
Who was Rajvir Jawanda?
Born in Pona village in Ludhiana's Jagraon, Rajvir started his journey in the Punjabi industry as a singer. He has sung songs such as Khush Reha Kar, Tu Dis Penda, Afreen, Sardari, Surname, Landlord, Down to Earth and Kangani. Apart from that, he has also worked in movies as a lead actor, including Subedar Joginder Singh, Jind Jaan and Mindo Taseeldarni.
Punjabi industry mourns Rajvir Jawanda's death
Soon after the news broke, celebs from the Punjabi industry came together to pay tribute to the singer. Jasbir Jassi took to his Instagram handle to condole the singer's death. He shared a post and wrote, "Haye O merya Rabbaa Dhakka karta."
Neeru Bajwa also shared a photo of the singer and wrote, "It is very painful to leave the happy and kind person Rajveer like this, goodbye dear Rajveer. Heartbroken by the tragic loss of such a young and promising life. Sending deepest condolences to the family and loved ones of @rajvirjawandaofficial May you find strength and peace during this unimaginable time. Gone far too soon, but never forgotten."
Himanshi Khurana wrote, "Rest In Peace".
Jaiveer Shergill wrote, "Saddened to hear about demise of young Punjabi singer #RajvirJawanda. May Waheguru Ji give strength to his family in this hour of grief."
Rajvir is survived by his wife and his mother.
