Ashish Chanchalani seems unfazed by the ongoing India's Got Latent controversy that sparked a nationwide outrage against YouTuber Samay Raina. Chanchalani, who also appeared in the controversial episode of the Samay Raina show, made a rare public appearance in Mumbai today. His interaction with the paparazzi has now gone viral online. 

Ashish Chanchalani's interaction with paps goes viral 

On March 10, Ashish Chanchalani was spotted outside a building in Mumbai. The Youtuber was seemingly headed towards the gym and was carrying his workout equipment with him. He donned a casual outfit for the outing comprising of a Spider-Man t-shirt teamed with wide-legged black track pants.

Before heading to the gym, Ashish Chanchalani spoke to the paparazzi present at the spot. When they caught up with him, the YouTuber said light-heartedly, “Idhaar udhar ghum ke… poora India tour kar ke halat kharab ho gaayi hain (I am tired after travelling around the country).” The comment comes after he appeared in front of the Guwahati Police for questioning on February 27. The video of the YouTuber talking to the camerapersons has gone viral on social media with select netizens calling hi out for making light of the matter and joking about the ongoing court proceedings. 

Ashish Chanchlani was quizzed by Guwahati police

On February 27, Guwahati Police questioned YouTuber Ashish Chanchlani in connection with a case regarding the alleged promotion of obscenity on India's Got Latent. Chanchlani, along with his advocate, appeared before the Crime Branch, which recorded his statement and allowed him to leave for the time being. "We recorded his statement. As he cooperated with our investigation, we let him go. If required, he will be called again," Guwahati Police Joint Commissioner Ankur Jain told PTI.

On February 18, the Gauhati High Court granted interim bail to Chanchlani in connection with the case. Chanchlani and four others were named in the FIR registered by Guwahati Police on February 10 vide Cyber Police Station case under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhtia (BNS), Information Technology Act, Cinematograph Act and Indecent Representation of Women (Prohibition) Act. Apart from Ranveer Allahbadia and Chanchlani, others named in the case in Assam are comics Samay Raina, Jaspreet Singh and Apoorva Makhija.
