Born on November 8 via surrogate, the couple shared their excitement on their Instagram handle. In the heartwarming post, they expressed their love for their newborn and gratitude toward their surrogate.

Tom Ellis, 44, and Meaghan Oppenheimer, 37, took to their Instagram handle to share the news of their newest family member, Dolly Ellis-Oppenheimer. The proud parents humorously credited their daughter for ending the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) strike within hours of her birth. The couple expressed deep love for their baby girl and extended heartfelt gratitude to their surrogate.

Tom Ellis wrote, "Our daughter Dolly Ellis-Oppenheimer was born on November 8th and within five hours of being alive, she single-handedly ended the SAG strike. We love her. Huge thank you to our amazing surrogate."

Tom Ellis and Meaghan Oppenheimer's love story began in 2015, leading to their engagement two years later, US Weekly reported. 

The couple tied the knot in June 2019, with Ellis expressing his joy on social media. Known for his role as Lucifer Morningstar on the popular TV series Lucifer, Tom Ellis often shares his love for fatherhood on social media. In August 2020, he opened up about the challenges of being away from his daughters during the pandemic. The actor expressed the pain of separation and the difficulty of remaining positive amid the uncertainties of the global situation.

Are Tom Ellis's children not impressed with his acting?

While Tom Ellis enjoys a close relationship with his daughters, he humorously revealed that they are unimpressed by his acting career. In a 2016 interview with PEOPLE, he shared that his children are his biggest fans as a dad but don't find his acting particularly fascinating. He said, "My kids are the least impressed about any work that I do, which is quite amusing."

He added, "Time and time again, if I’m on the telly, I’ll go: ‘Look, it’s Dad on the telly,’ and they’ll sort of look up, give it a cursory glance and then carry on with what they’re doing ’cause it really doesn’t faze them at all."

While this is Oppenheimer's first experience as a mother, Ellis already shares a daughter, Nora, 18, from a previous relationship, and has two daughters, Florence, 15, and Marnie, 11, from his previous marriage to Tamzin Outhwaite.
