Deadpool 3: Leaked photos from the set hint at the return of two X-men characters

Marvel's highly-anticipated film titled Deadpool 3 is slated to release in July 2024. The film, led by Ryan Reynolds has entered the filming phase, creating ripples of excitement among fans. As the filming progressed, several leaks and spoilers have surfaced online, igniting speculations about the film's plot. Recent leaks from the Deadpool 3 set hint at the return of some of the iconic X-Men characters.  

Wolverine's return in Deadpool 3

One of the leaked images unveils the return of Hugh Jackman's Wolverine, engaging in a dramatic battle with the notorious villain from the Wolverine franchise, Sabretooth. Another photo depicts Deadpool holding Sabretooth's severed head, hinting at a showdown in the film's narrative.

Further reports by The Mirror suggest the resurrection of yet another formidable X-Men adversary, Toad. Sources indicate sightings of an actor portraying the character on set, teasing an expanded roster of legendary villains in the upcoming Deadpool sequel.

Additionally, several characters from prior Deadpool films are anticipated to make a return. Wade's fiancée Vanessa, portrayed by Morena Baccarin, is set to reprise her role alongside Leslie Uggams, Karan Soni, Brianna Hildebrand, Shioli Kutsuna, and Stefan Kapičić, adding depth and continuity to the film's storyline.

When will Deadpool 3 release?

The SAG-AFTRA strike, which began in July, forced a production halt for Deadpool 3. Now, as the strike concluded, Marvel Studios began gearing up to resume filming before the Thanksgiving break. The delay in Deadpool 3 has positioned it as the sole Marvel Studios film scheduled for release in 2024, Variety reported. Meanwhile, the decision to vacate the May release date for Deadpool 3 leaves a significant void in the summer blockbuster lineup for 2024. Traditionally a prime period for major studio releases, the first weekend of May has been a stronghold for Marvel titles.
