Megan Fox, best known for her role in Jennifer's Body, recently opened up about her miscarriage and the trials of abusive relationships in her new book of poetry titled Pretty Boys Are Poisonous. The actress addressed the pain of pregnancy loss in two poems from her collection. In one of the poems, she recalled the memory of an ultrasound of her unborn baby girl at 10 weeks and a day. She wrote, "maybe if you hadn't... maybe if I had..."

Megan Fox's verses also expressed the longing and heartbreak that follows such a loss. She said that she yearns to "hold baby's hand" and hear the baby's laughter but is left with the painful task of saying "goodbye". In another line, she described the imagined act of holding the baby "as they rip you from my insides." She further penned, "I will pay any price. Tell me please what is the ransom for her soul?"

She wrote, “There is an ultrasound by your side of the bed, 10 weeks and 1 day … do you think that if she could have, she would have left a suicide note? But now I have to say goodbye. I close my eyes and imagine holding you tight against my chest as they rip you from my insides.”

Opening up about the miscarriage and speaking about how ‘difficult’ it has been, in an interview with Good Morning America, Fox said, “I have three kids, so it was very difficult for both of us. And it sent us on a very wild journey together and separately, and together and apart, and together and apart, and together and apart, trying to navigate: ‘What does this mean? Why did this happen?’”

Megan Fox's poetry book delves into 'toxic and abusive' relationships

Megan Fox's poetry extended beyond her experience with pregnancy loss. She also delved into the themes of abuse and toxic relationships, using her words as a means to confront and heal from the pain she endured. She explained that writing this collection was her attempt to free herself from the weight of carrying the secrets of men and to inspire others to find their voice and happiness.

She also shared that her poetry collection drew from various aspects of her life, some "literal", and some "allegorical". She mentioned that certain poems carry a Grimm's fairy tale-like quality, while others resonate with the culture of online memes. She added that she believes that women can relate to the wide array of emotions and experiences her poetry encapsulates.

She wrote, "Your eyes go black / and I know it's too late to run," then describing being pinned down, spit on and choked by a man who is "delusional and possessed." Fox writes, "you hit me / again / and again / i recognize the familiar taste of blood on my tongue."

The poem also sees Fox write about being covered in scratches and bite marks. "you fall asleep on top of me so that i can't call my family or the police," she added.
