Oscars 2025: Wicked To Nickel Boys And The Brutalist, How Best Picture Nominees Have Fared At Box Office
Unlike last year's $1 billion grossers, Oppenheimer and Barbie, this year's Best Picture Oscar nominees have not performed too well at the box office.
Oscars 2025: The Academy is all set to roll out the red carpet for the nominees in 23 categories. The hotly anticipated one, the Best Picture category is surprisingly full of movies that have not performed well at the box office. This is unlike last year when two of the biggest hits of 2024 were in the running (Barbie and Oppenheimer), both grossed more than $1 billion worldwide.
The biggest box office hits in the running for Best Picture at the 97th Academy Awards are Denis Villeneuve's Dune 2 starring Timothee Chalamet and Zendaya and Jon M Chu's Wicked, featuring Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo. Both have grossed a little over $710 million worldwide. Here's a lowdown on how the 10 Oscar nominees fared at the ticket window.
