What happens to the main player – Jack Sparrow?

When the reboot was initially announced last year, it was not certain whether Depp would make a return as Jack Sparrow and it still remains unclear if he will be part of future plans. After Salazar's Revenge aka Dead Men Tell No Tales, there were many suggestions that the movie could be the final outing for Johnny Depp after the previous writer Stuart Beattie spoke about the idea of Depp not making a comeback. From the fans' perspective, it only makes sense for Johnny Depp to reprise his role as Captain Jack Sparrow in the film, who, after five films' worth of curses and escapes, has made it alive. But it remains unclear if Johnny Depp will indeed be seen reprising his role as Jack Sparrow. Fans are now creating online petitions demanding the makers to bring back Captain Jack Sparrow in the film.
