Although it doesn't go too far in the direction of the plot summary, the new one-minute trailer for The First Omen is full of ominous vibes. The clip, which is set to the ominous "If I Had a Heart" by Fever Ray, features glimpses of children playing scary games, nuns and priests staring blankly, rioting in the streets, and Margaret casting some particularly terrifying and sinister glances directly into the camera.

"A young American woman is sent to Rome to begin a life of service to the church, but encounters a darkness that causes her to question her faith and uncovers a terrifying conspiracy that hopes to bring about the birth of evil incarnate," reads the official synopsis for the movie.

About the original The Omen

The 1976 film The Omen narrated the tale of Robert Thorn (played by Gregory Peck) and Katherine "Kathy" Thorn (played by Lee Remick), who adopted a son named Damien (played by Harvey Spencer Stevens). It is discovered that Damien is the son of Satan and the Antichrist following a string of foreboding incidents, including Damien purposefully pushing Kathy off a balcony and resulting in her miscarriage. David Seltzer wrote the screenplay and Richard Donner directed the first movie.
