Jailer starring superstar Rajinikanth has been wreaking havoc at the global box office. Made on a reported budget of Rs 101 crore, the movie marked Thalaivar's comeback to the big screens after a two-year hiatus. The film's box office journey began with a massive collection of more than ₹40 crore on its opening day and since then, it has been shattering records despite stiff competition from other releases. Now, after 13 days of its theatrical run, Jailer is all set to enter the ₹300 crore club in India.

Jailer continues its successful run at the box office
Despite a slight decline in its collection on Tuesday (August 22), Jailer's entry into the ₹300 crore club is inevitable. As per the early estimates by industry tracker Sacnilk, Jailer earned ₹4.50 crore nett on its second Tuesday in India taking the film's domestic box office collection to ₹291.80 crore nett. Meanwhile, trade analyst Ramesh Bala noted in a post on X (formerly known as Twitter) that Jailer has already breached the ₹500 crore mark globally, cementing its place as the second Rajinikanth film, following 2.0 to achieve this feat.

Jailer becomes the highest-grossing Tamil film in India
With its collection surpassing that of Mani Ratnam-directed Ponniyin Selvan 1, Rajinikanth's Jailer has achieved the status of the highest-grossing Tamil film in India. The worldwide record for the highest-grossing Tamil film is held by Rajinikanth's 2.0, directed by S Shankar. The film's lifetime collection stands at 723.30 ₹crore.
