Jailer director Nelson Dilipkumar planning a film with Rajinikanth, Thalapathy Vijay?

Filmmaker Nelson Dilipkumar is basking in the success of his latest release Jailer. The movie features superstar Rajinikanth as the main lead. Recently, the director opened up about his future ambitions and his upcoming projects.

Nelson Dilipkumar opens up about his future projects

Nelson Dilipkumar has been on cloud nine after his latest film Jailer shattered records at the box office after Beast debacle. The movie turned out to be a blockbuster owing to the huge fan base of Rajinikanth. In a recent media interaction, the filmmaker opened up about his future projects that include a movie starring both Thalapthy Vijay and Rajinikanth.

He added that he has planned to make sequels to some of his hit movies including Kolamaavu Kokila starring Nayanthara, Beast, Doctor, and Jailer among others. However, the filmmaker has not confirmed the sequel to Jailer or any of the above-mentioned films. But, during the audio launch of Jailer, Yogi Babu confirmed the sequel to Kolamaavu Kokila.

Nelson Dilipkumar on Beast box office failure

In a recent interview with Galatta, Nelson talked about his and Thalapathy Vijay's reaction to the mixed reviews of Beast at the box office. The filmmaker revealed that he and Vijay discussed the movie's performance. Nelson recalled and said, "To be frank, when the film was released, he said ‘We made a film. You did what you told me you would.'"

The Theri actor further said, "We put in our best effort. Some liked it, and some didn’t. We can’t do anything about it now. Let’s try doing something better next time." Nelson also mentioned that he asked Vijay whether he was upset with the response to the movie. Thalapathy Vijay looked perplexed and asked the Jailer director, "Why would I be pissed with you?" Vijay further consoled Nelson and said that their friendship is more than a film and he has hurt him by asking such questions.
