Kichcha Sudeep filed a defamation case of Rs 10 crores against film director-producers MN Kumar and MN Suresh earlier in July. In recent development, the actor recorded a statement in the case on Friday. He stated false accusations were made against him in the media by Kumar and Suresh.

Kichcha Sudeep refuses to drop lawsuit

According to PTI, Kichcha came before the court headed by Judge Venkanna Basappa Hosamani and said in his statement that the two producers had falsely accused him at their media conference. 

He asserted that the charge is being contested by many individuals, which has damaged his reputation. Sudeep declined to end the lawsuit if the producers expressed regret and were willing to reach an agreement. He said that it would give the producers the wrong impression. For orders, the court postponed the case to Friday.

Kichcha Sudeep sent notice to producers 

According to the notice sent by Kichcha earlier in July, Kumar held a press meet at the Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce and alleged that the actor had taken certain money as advance for working in a movie. The notice claimed  that the producers said that they had done 'full settlement' of payment in his favour. 

Further, Kumar claimed that they paid advance money to various people 'on the basis of Kichcha’s insistence and that they paid the actor to purchase a residential property in Rajarajeshwari Nagar in Bengaluru. Kichcha refuted the rumours and filed a defamation case against the producers. He said, “I wouldn’t have survived in the industry for such a long period if I had committed mistakes. It becomes a contempt of court if I speak about the entire issue, let the court decide."
