Leo Hindi poster, Kumari Srimathi teaser delayed after Vijay Antony's daughter's death

Thalapathy Vijay’s Leo is currently at the height of its promotional activity. Since the film is going to be released in theatres on October 19, 2023, the makers have been pushing out new posters for the film on social media. On September 19, the Hindi poster for Leo was to be released. In light of Tamil actor cum music composer Vijay Antony’s daughter Laara’s unfortunate death, however, Leo decided to not release new material today out of respect.

Leo makers delay poster release

Taking to X (formerly known as Twitter), Seven Screen Studio offered their condolences over Vijay Antony’s loss. They added that as a sign of respect, they would be postponing the film’s poster. They wrote, “Deepest condolences to Vijay Antony sir for the unbearable loss. Our prayers are with you and your family. We respect and believe it’s appropriate to postpone today’s Leo poster reveal to tomorrow.” Notably, the teaser launch for Nithya Menen’s Kumari Srimathi was also postponed out of respect for the actor’s daughter.

Vijay Antony’s daughter dies

The teenaged daughter of popular actor and music director Vijay Antony died on Tuesday allegedly by suicide at her residence here, said police. The 16-year-old was found hanging in her Teynampet residence in the small hours and was rushed to a city hospital where she was declared brought dead' by the doctors.

The victim was studying in Class 12 at a private school here. A case of unnatural death was registered, and an investigation is on, they said. Vijay Antony is also slated to appear in the upcoming film Raththam, which will release on October 6. However, it's not clear whether the film will be delayed in light of the actor's unfortunate circumstance.
