Basil Joseph's Malayalam film Falimy is all set to release on This date
Basil Joseph-starrer Falimy marks the directorial debut of Nithish Sahadev, who has co-written the film along with Sanjo Joseph.
The makers of the upcoming Malayalam road trip comedy Falimy released their official trailer this morning. Falimy boasts of an impressive ensemble cast, led by Jaya Jaya Jaya Jaya Hey actor Basil Joseph.
Falimy is about a dysfunctional family's troubles outside their land
Falimy, much like its title, promises to be a quirky, twisted take on the road trip genre movie. The plot seemingly revolves around a dysfunctional family that decides to embark on a trip to Varanasi. The trailer begins with a quiet moment between two members of the family, the oldest and the youngest. There is clearly no love lost between the two, considering the teenager instantly rolls his eyes when the grandpa figure starts telling a story from his youth. The rest of the trailer is a rollicking ride, cut with great pacing and a hyper-energetic soundtrack, briefly showing us glimpses of the many shenanigans the family lands up partaking in.
Another important element of Falimy is their migrant status - the fact that the family at the center of this film holds an outsider status in North India, the place they are visiting, only promises to double up the chaos. Also, living up to the traditions of a dysfunctional family narrative, the trailer of Falimy is brimming with all the family members yelling at each other, tired, furious, and frustrated.
Falimy releases on November 17
While the trailer promises an out-and-out screwball comedy, it remains to see whether Falimy will spring up surprise on the viewer by incorporating a greater amount of drama or sentiment as opposed to what’s shown in the trailer.
Falimy also marks the directorial debut of Nithish Sahadev, who has co-written the film along with Sanjo Joseph. While Basil Joseph headlines the project, the film’s supporting cast includes prominent actors like Manju Pillai, Amith Mohan Rajeshwari, and Jagadish.
Falimy, produced by Ganesh Menon, Amal Paulson, and Lakshmi Warrier, will hit the theatres on November 17.
