Actor Bala gets married for the fourth, two years after ending the marriage with his third wife Dr Elizabeth. The actor got married on Thursday, October 23, to his relative Kokila in an intimate ceremony at Kerala 's Pavakulam Temple. The wedding ceremony happened at 8:30 AM. Soon after the news of his fourth marriage broke, it brought this relationship practice to light, which is called serial monogamy.

What is Serial Monogamy?

According to the National Institute of Health when men marry women sequentially, or women marry men sequentially, it is called ‘serial monogamy’. It is done by repeated divorce or remarriage. “This can be done through various means, such as marrying women younger than themselves and replacing divorced spouses with women younger than the previous spouse,” per NIH. According to the organisation, several studies show both strategies effectively lengthen the reproductive lifespans of some men relative to those of women.

What are the signs of a Serial Monogamist?

1) They struggle with being single.
2) They want to move quickly into deeper relationships and love-bomb their partner.
3) There is no proper closure or communication between the ending of one relationship and the beginning of the next.
4) They expect deep, premature commitments at the early stages of relationships.
5) They are chronically insecure and exhibit signs of co-dependency. This can burn their partners out.

Signs of Serial Monogamist in Bala

Bala was first married to a woman named Chandana Sadasiva probably before or around 2008. A social media post by a user named Hima Nived Krishna revealed some things about the actor's first marriage. Hima shared documents believed to be from 2008, showing Bala's marriage to Chandana and claimed that Chandana suffered abuse during the marriage, which eventually led to their divorce.

In 2010, he married singer Amrutha Suresh, with whom he has a daughter, Avantika. However, their marriage turned sour, and they started living separately in 2015, leading to their divorce in 2019.

After his divorce from Amrutha, he married Dr. Elizabeth Udayan in 2021. Dr Elizabeth is a surgeon and they reportedly met when Bala consulted her for surgery, possibly during his liver transplant a few years ago. In 2023, the couple had begun living apart as revealed by Bala in an interview.
