Mark Antony Box Office Collection Day 2: Vishal-SJ Suryah film earns Rs 25 crore worldwide

Vishal Krishna and SJ Suryah are currently working on their respective upcoming releases. While Vishal is set to work on Thupparivaalan 2 as an actor and director, SJ Suryah is gearing up for the release of his film Chandramukhi 2 with Raghava Lawrence and Kangana Ranaut. Recently, they both saw the release of Mark Antony and the film has managed to pick up pace at the box office in its first weekend.

Mark Antony earns Rs 9 crore on Day 2

Mark Antony was estimated to open with Rs 6.5 crore collection on Day 1. However, the film proved its mettle by minting Rs 8.35 crore on its opening day. It minted Rs 9.11 crore on its second day. It witnessed a growth of 9.10% and has now earned Rs 17.44 crore nett in India.

The Adhik Ravichandran film had an overall occupancy of 54.36% on Saturday for the Tamil version. The maximum occupancy was for the night shows at 73.02%. Vishal and SJ Suryah starrer is expected to receive a further bump up on Sunday and is expected to mint Rs 13.2 crore on Day 3. Meanwhile, Mark Antony has earned Rs 25 crore plus worldwide. 

Vishal recalls on set accident 

Ahead of Mark Antony’s release, Vishal was part of the promotions for the film. During a press meet, he narrated a fateful incident on set. He said, "We were shooting for a sequence and it involved me and Suryah sir. Both of us were standing on our marks and the truck which was approaching us, lost control. We stood there frozen."

With the sudden and unforeseen circumstance, Vishal recalled, "I don't know who prayed for me because as I saw the truck driving towards us, suddenly made a turn and crashed on the side sparing both Suryah sir and me, and we came out of it without a single scratch. At that instance, I felt like I went to hell and came back."
